A warm and weather resistant thermal skirt for kids, designed for an active and playful life outdoors during the winter months, whatever the weather. The knee-length skirt is a flexible and practical alternative to thermal trousers. They are easy to wear with a handy two-way front zip. The Ice skirt has a sporty look and is made with an ample amount of warming synthetic down, which has the same warming properties as down but with the advantage of maintaining these properties even when wet. The outer fabric is made of a weather-resistant material, which means that the winter skirt is suitable for those who spend a lot of time outdoors during the winter months, regardless of the weather.

The skirt fits true to size and features an adjustable waist for a perfect fit.

Description

The skirt is a classic design invented by Uhip with the aim of keeping riders warm in the saddle without the use of bulky over-trousers, and has now found a popular home with many dog walkers.

The knee-length cover skirt has a sporty look and is packed with features that keep you warm and dry in all types of weather. Two-way front zip can be separated at the top and provides great freedom of movement. The elastic inner leg ties help to keep the skirt sides in place during any activity.

The weather resistant fabric is filled with a generous quantity of warming synthetic down, ideal for long walks and activities outdoors, no matter the weather or temperature.

A matching jacket is available with the skirt for a stylish and warm set.

The Ice family consists of equestrian winter clothing suitable for riders who spend a lot of time outdoors. The garments keep you warm and endure precipitation.

Wearing the sporty Ice look you are made visible in the dark thanks to the reflective details in the design. All garments in the Ice family are closely fitted yet give you freedom to move around, and the width allows a mid-layer underneath. The width design also allows air to collect on the inside, which is heated by your body, making our garments extra warm and cosy.

Materials

Shell:

7/5 Bonded Polyester 2-layer
Polyester Ripstop with a matt surface and bonded quilting. The TPU membrane will provide high waterprotection and breathability.

100% Polyester
Polyester has exceptional colour resistance and retains colour intensity very well. Other benefits are its high tolerance to many chemicals and extremely low water absorption (for example, when you perspire, the material releases moisture into the air instead of absorbing it. Uhip is aiming to use only recycled polyester in future.

WP: 7 000 mm
Water column is a way of measuring the degree of waterproofness in a garment to understand the garment's ability not to let water through. How high a water column a garment can withstand is also affected by how it is used; a harder and more active use requires more of the material. Therefore, we recommend regular reinforcement with impregnation to ensure the full function of the garment.

MP: 5000g/m2/24h
Breathability is often measured in a ‘g/m2/24hrs’ measurement. This rating represents the amount of water (or sweat) by weight that can pass through a square metre of fabric over a day.

Taped seams
Essentially, taping seams enhance the waterproof protection of clothing. Needle stitching leaves tiny holes in the garment through which water can seep when worn in wet conditions; taped seams prevent this from happening.

Bionic Finish ECO Fluorocarbon free DWR
Fluorine-free water repellent textile finishes of RUDOLF GROUP to achieve water-repellent effects. Many plants have a natural water repellency. BIONIC-FINISH® ECO absorbs this effect so that we can use it for our products.

Insulation:
Uhip does not use down in our garments, but we have used wool or synthetic fibres instead. The benefits of synthetic insulations are that they keep the heat even in wet condition and it dries quickly. The basic principle for all insulations is the same: small spaces in the fibres encapsulate body heat and keep you warm. The more air between the body and the cold, the more effective insulation.

All Uhip products are made with 100% recycled Polyester, 38gsm. Recycled polyester is made from recycled materials (PET and polyester fabrics). By choosing recycled polyester, we can deliver the same technical performance in fibres with a smaller environmental footprint.
