This is a really warm thermal skirt for the cold days of winter. The knee-length riding skirt keeps your legs warm even in the saddle – by opening up the two-way zip at the front and the zip at the back, you can sit in the saddle while the skirt hangs down and warms your thighs. The skirt is easy to put on and take off with the two-way front zip. Thanks to the breakaway waist, there is no need to pull through dirty shoes; you can even take it off when you are on horseback. Perfect for taking off after warming up and putting back on when it is time to walk the horse.

The skirt fits true to size and features an adjustable waist for a perfect fit. Ebba is 174 cm tall and wears size 36.

Description

The riding skirt is Uhip's true classic, which we invented with the aim of keeping the rider warm in the saddle without bulky coveralls. By opening up the two-way front zip and the zip in the back, you can sit in the saddle while the skirt hangs down and warms your thighs. The inside of the skirt is equipped with leg straps that can be fastened around your thighs to keep the skirt in place.

Match with our Nordic Jacket and you will have a flexible alternative to our long coats.

The garments we call Nordic are really warm, keeping you warm to about -15 degrees, and the insulation maintains its function even in damp environments. In addition to keeping you warm, Nordic also have certain built-in protection against precipitation. So, you'll be fine for outdoor activities in rugged environments, even though they are primarily designed for cold weather. Our Nordic family consists of coats in two different lengths, jackets and thermal skirts, all of which have a well-fitted, stylish design without being tight. They are quilted with wide, full channels, and the colours are rich. The fabric has a pearlescent-like, beautifully shimmering surface.

    Materials

    Shell:

3/3 Polyamide 2-layer, 100% Polyamide, Ripstop with shiny surface. TPU Film
Durable and lightweight 2-layer Polyamide material. Polyamides are known for their durability and resistance to wear and tear. They are commonly used in outdoor and performance clothing. Polyamide is a lightweight material that is stronger than polyester in relation to its weight. Also referred to as Nylon.  Ripstop construction with a shiny surface makes the garments more resistant to tearing and ripping. PU membrane to provide high water protection and breathability.

    WP: 3000 mm
Water column is a way of measuring the degree of waterproofness in a garment to understand the garment's ability not to let water through. How high a water column a garment can withstand is also affected by how it is used; a harder and more active use requires more of the material. Therefore, we recommend regular reinforcement with impregnation to ensure the full function of the garment.

    MP: 3000g/m2/24h
Breathability is often measured in a ‘g/m2/24hrs’ measurement. This rating represents the amount of water (or sweat) by weight that can pass through a square metre of fabric over a day.

    Taped seams
Essentially, taping seams enhance the waterproof protection of clothing. Needle stitching leaves tiny holes in the garment through which water can seep when worn in wet conditions; taped seams prevent this from happening.

Bionic Finish ECO Fluorocarbon free DWR
Fluorine-free water repellent textile finishes to achieve water-repellent effects. Many plants have a natural water repellency. BIONIC-FINISH® ECO absorbs this effect so that we can use it for our products.

    Insulation:

Uhip does not use down in our garments, but we have used wool or synthetic fibres instead. The benefits of synthetic insulations are that they keep the heat even in wet condition and it dries quickly. The basic principle for all insulations is the same: small spaces in the fibres encapsulate body heat and keep you warm. The more air between the body and the cold, the more effective insulation.
