The dream of riding instructors and pony moms! Uhip takes warm riding coats to new levels with this extra long winter coat that extends all the way down to the ankles. This warm coat has plenty of insulation and is guaranteed to keep you warm even during those really cold winter days. The material protects you from the snow and with its excellent breathability, you'll feel really comfortable whether you are sitting still or being active. Igloo takes a big step towards sustainable consumption with outer fabric, insulation and inner lining made from 100% recycled material.

The coat fits true to size. Don't forget that proper insulation is achieved when there's air between you and your outerwear. Nell is 175 cm tall and wears size 36.

Description

Although we mainly had those who stand still a lot in cold environments in mind when we developed this long coat, you can of course also ride in it. By opening up the two-way zip in the front and the slit in the back, you can sit in the saddle while the coat hangs down and warms your legs. On this garment, the back vents are placed towards the sides to minimise cold intake and allow the long coat to keep your legs really warm even in the saddle. The inside of the coat has leg straps that you can fasten around your thighs to keep the garment in place. The winter coat has two large front pockets with flaps and a chest pocket. Designed with wrist warmers, the sleeves feature Uhip's discreet fold-down solution to protect your hands from moisture and cold.

Wrap yourself in our longest and warmest riding coat to keep you warm even on the coldest days of the year. Putting on this fluffy, extra long coat feels like crawling into a sleeping bag or under a duvet, with the advantage of great freedom of movement. Despite its puffiness, the coat is easy to wear.

Materials

Shell:

100% Recycled Polyamide
Polyamides are known for their durability and resistance to wear and tear. They are commonly used in outdoor and performance clothing. Polyamide is a lightweight material that is stronger than polyester in relation to its weight. Also referred to as Nylon.

2-layer taffeta with a shiny surface
Durable 2-layer Taffeta (a crisp, smooth, shiny fabric known for its lustrous surface) with a shiny surface made from 100% Recycled Polyamide.

TPU Membrane to provide a high waterprotection and breathability.
TPU membrane is a type of material known for its unique combination of flexibility, durability, and resistance to various environmental factors.

WP:  8000 mm
Water column is a way of measuring the degree of waterproofness in a garment to understand the garment's ability not to let water through. How high a water column a garment can withstand is also affected by how it is used; a harder and more active use requires more of the material. Therefore, we recommend regular reinforcement with impregnation to ensure the full function of the garment.

MP: 5000g/m2/24h
Breathability is often measured in a ‘g/m2/24hrs’ measurement. This rating represents the amount of water (or sweat) by weight that can pass through a square metre of fabric over a day.

Bionic Finish ECO Fluorocarbon free DWR
Fluorine-free water repellent textile finishes to achieve water-repellent effects. Many plants have a natural water repellency. BIONIC-FINISH® ECO absorbs this effect so that we can use it for our products.

Insulation:

Uhip does not use down in our garments, but we have used wool or synthetic fibres instead. The benefits of synthetic insulations are that they keep the heat even in wet condition and it dries quickly. The basic principle for all insulations is the same: small spaces in the fibres encapsulate body heat and keep you warm. The more air between the body and the cold, the more effective insulation.

Clo® Eco Pluma, 100% Polyester (Clo-i fibres), Downlike synthetic

Synthetic down with loose-fill staple fibre where each garment and size has its specific weight of insulation. See DuPont™ Sorona® is a synthetic insulation focused on sustainability made from annually renewable plant-based ingredients. DuPont™ Sorona® fibres are produced with a patented technology that provides lightweight, breathable warmth with a soft feeling and has superior compression and recovery.  It is quick drying and also has the benefit of keeping you warm even if it gets wet. DuPont™ Sorona® fibre/ polymer is Oeko-Tex® certified.

Lining:

uhip Embossed Logo Lining, 100% Recycled Polyester
