Frost is a warm, stylish and high quality winter jacket that is equally at home in the stable, in town, or on the ski slopes. Like all Uhip outerwear, the winter jacket is characterised by smart and practical features that have been thoroughly tested and developed to make life with horses and dogs as enjoyable as possible. This is the winter jacket that will keep you warm even in a blizzard. A slightly longer riding jacket that will quickly become a wardrobe favourite.

The jacket fits true to size. Don´t forget that proper insulation is achieved when there´s air between you and your outerwear.

Description

To allow you to ride in the jacket, two slits are neatly and strategically placed on the sides and can be opened with zips. The placement of the slit prevents the jacket from riding up and instead minimises the intake of cold air when sitting in the saddle. The jacket has two front pockets and a chest pocket with a zip. The sleeves are designed with wrist warmers and have Uhip's discreet fold-down solution to protect your hands from moisture and cold. It also has a comfortable hood with reflectors at the back to pull over your head or helmet if the weather calls for it.

The stylish frost jacket is highly breathable and keeps you warm and dry even if the snow is whirling. The tasteful matte fabric and the stylish metal details are the finishing touches that make frost a very stylish jacket that you can proudly wear and feel great in no matter the setting.

    Materials

    Shell:
Frost Polyester, 100% Polyester, Mechanical stretch, TPU membrane

    100% Polyester
Polyester has exceptional colour resistance and retains colour intensity very well. Other benefits are its high tolerance to many chemicals and extremely low water absorption (for example, when you perspire, the material releases moisture into the air instead of absorbing it. Uhip is aiming to use only recycled polyester in future.

    WP: 8 000 mm
Water column is a way of measuring the degree of waterproofness in a garment to understand the garment's ability not to let water through. How high a water column a garment can withstand is also affected by how it is used; a harder and more active use requires more of the material. Therefore, we recommend regular reinforcement with impregnation to ensure the full function of the garment.

    MP: 5000g/m2/24h
Breathability is often measured in a ‘g/m2/24hrs’ measurement. This rating represents the amount of water (or sweat) by weight that can pass through a square metre of fabric over a day.

    Taped seams
Essentially, taping seams enhance the waterproof protection of clothing. Needle stitching leaves tiny holes in the garment through which water can seep when worn in wet conditions; taped seams prevent this from happening.

Bionic Finish ECO Fluorocarbon free DWR
Fluorine-free water repellent textile finishes of RUDOLF GROUP to achieve water-repellent effects. Many plants have a natural water repellency. BIONIC-FINISH® ECO absorbs this effect so that we can use it for our products.

    Insulation:

Uhip does not use down in our garments, but we have used wool or synthetic fibres instead. The benefits of synthetic insulations are that they keep the heat even in wet condition and it dries quickly. The basic principle for all insulations is the same: small spaces in the fibres encapsulate body heat and keep you warm. The more air between the body and the cold, the more effective insulation.
