Description

The light rain jacket includes a thin insulating layer and outer fabric treated to withstand wet weather. A versatile garment for year-round use. The jacket has a high collar and fold-down cuffs to help protect you from the wind and rain – an innovative design pioneered by Uhip. These features will help to keep your hands warm and, when used with gloves, will help to keep them toasty and dry.

On the reverse, there is a handy pocket that is ideal for storing your mittens, the dog's leash or other accessories. The jacket can also be folded into the pocket for smart and easy storage.

Combine with our accompanying rain and wind skirt Regular Sport family and create a versatile and flexible alternative to a single, longer raincoat which you can tailor as required.

The members of the Regular Sport Family are all lightweight rain and wind resistant garments which are flexible and nice to wear, but also easy to carry along. All Regular sport garments make a perfect wear all year around since the thin insulation makes it easy to add and remove layers depending on weather conditions.

Materials

Shell:

10/10 Polyamide, 100% Polyamide Ripstop with shiny surface, PU membrane.
Durable and lightweight 2-layer Polyamide material. Polyamides are known for their durability and resistance to wear and tear. They are commonly used in outdoor and performance clothing. Polyamide is a lightweight material that is stronger than polyester in relation to its weight. Also referred to as Nylon. Ripstop construction with a shiny surface makes the garments more resistant to tearing and ripping. Printed PU membrane to provide high water protection and breathability.

Water column is a way of measuring the degree of waterproofness in a garment to understand the garment's ability not to let water through. How high a water column a garment can withstand is also affected by how it is used; a harder and more active use requires more of the material. Therefore, we recommend regular reinforcement with impregnation to ensure the full function of the garment.

Breathability is often measured in a ‘g/m2/24hrs’ measurement. This rating represents the amount of water (or sweat) by weight that can pass through a square metre of fabric over a day.

Taped seams
Essentially, taping seams enhance the waterproof protection of clothing. Needle stitching leaves tiny holes in the garment through which water can seep when worn in wet conditions; taped seams prevent this from happening.

Bionic Finish ECO Fluorocarbon free DWR
Fluorine-free water repellent textile finishes to achieve water-repellent effects. Many plants have a natural water repellency. BIONIC-FINISH® ECO absorbs this effect so that we can use it for our products.

Insulation:

Uhip does not use down in our garments, but we have used wool or synthetic fibres instead. The benefits of synthetic insulations are that they keep the heat even in wet condition and it dries quickly. The basic principle for all insulations is the same: small spaces in the fibres encapsulate body heat and keep you warm. The more air between the body and the cold, the more effective insulation.

It is quick drying and also has the benefit of keeping you warm even if it gets wet. DuPont™ Sorona® fibre/ polymer is Oeko-Tex® certified.
