It´s a new, somewhat stripped-down garment in our riding coat collection, but it still has Uhip´s smart and practical features and has been thoroughly tested and developed to make life with a horse as great as possible.

The new Ally family is available in several different models, and the look is inspired by our successful Frost family with a muted, matt material, nicely quilted with tape instead of stitches. The Frost collection has more insulation than Ally, with warm insulation made of recycled polyester, but is still very light and easy to wear, both when on horseback and in the stables.

Alexandra is 168 cm tall and wears size 36.

With its two-way zip at the front and vent at the back, the coat keeps you warm in the saddle. You adjust the zip at the front, open up the back and let the coat hang down and warm your legs. Other features include two spacious pockets with warm fleece lining and zip, a removable hood, and cuffs with wrist warmers to protect your hands from cold and damp conditions. The collar is a little higher, meaning the cold and the wind stay outside.

The riding coat keeps you exactly as warm as you want, as you just adjust what you wear underneath. Take a look, for example, at the stylish and flexible vest in the Ally family, or our many warm, soft merino wool layers, which we believe have the world's best properties as both base and middle layers.

  • Materials

    3/3 Polyester 2-layer
2-layer Polyester weave with a matt surface and bonded quilting. The TPU membrane will provide waterprotection and breathability.

    100% Polyester
Polyester has exceptional colour resistance and retains colour intensity very well. Other benefits are its high tolerance to many chemicals and extremely low water absorption (for example, when you perspire, the material releases moisture into the air instead of absorbing it. Uhip is aiming to use only recycled polyester in future.

    WP: 3 000 mm
Water column is a way of measuring the degree of waterproofness in a garment to understand the garment's ability not to let water through. How high a water column a garment can withstand is also affected by how it is used; a harder and more active use requires more of the material. Therefore, we recommend regular reinforcement with impregnation to ensure the full function of the garment.

    MP: 3 000g/m2/24h
Breathability is often measured in a ‘g/m2/24hrs’ measurement. This rating represents the amount of water (or sweat) by weight that can pass through a square metre of fabric over a day.

    PFOA/PFOS free DWR
Fluorine-free water repellent textile finishes to achieve water-repellent effects.

Uhip does not use down in our garments, but we have used wool or synthetic fibres instead. The benefits of synthetic insulations are that they keep the heat even in wet condition and it dries quickly. The basic principle for all insulations is the same: small spaces in the fibres encapsulate body heat and keep you warm. The more air between the body and the cold, the more effective insulation.
