Breathability

A rain and wind resistant riding coat designed with thin and light insulation. The Regular Sport Coat is practical and very comfortable. Wrap the light and compliant material of the coat around you to stay nice and warm in challenging weather and rain.

The coat is updated with Uhip's slightly more discreet fold-down cuffs and wrist warmers with thumb holes. The front hand pockets have been updated with hidden zips.

The coat fits true to size. This model is designed to accommodate a matching Wool Hybrid Liner Coat underneath. Ebba is 174 cm tall and wears size 36.

Description

The smart design includes a soft high collar and the Uhip signature sleeve extension, which can be folded down when the weather makes your hands feel cold. A two way zip at the front and the slit at the back, along with elastic leg straps on the inside, provide excellent protection against rain and wind when riding. The front zip of the riding coat has a cover with reflective details as part of the design.

When the outside temperatures start to become lower, you can combine the Regular Sport Riding Coat with the Uhip Wool Hybrid Liner that you can attach to the inside of the coat.

Materials

Shell:

10/10 Polyamide, 100% Polyamide Ripstop with shiny surface, PU membrane.
Durable and lightweight 2-layer Polyamide material. Polyamides are known for their durability and resistance to wear and tear. They are commonly used in outdoor and performance clothing. Polyamide is a lightweight material that is stronger than polyester in relation to its weight. Also referred to as Nylon. Ripstop construction with a shiny surface makes the garments more resistant to tearing and ripping. Printed PU membrane to provide high water protection and breathability.

Water column is a way of measuring the degree of waterproofness in a garment to understand the garment's ability not to let water through. How high a water column a garment can withstand is also affected by how it is used; a harder and more active use requires more of the material. Therefore, we recommend regular reinforcement with impregnation to ensure the full function of the garment.

Breathability is often measured in a ‘g/m2/24hrs’ measurement. This rating represents the amount of water (or sweat) by weight that can pass through a square metre of fabric over a day.

Taped seams
Essentially, taping seams enhance the waterproof protection of clothing. Needle stitching leaves tiny holes in the garment through which water can seep when worn in wet conditions; taped seams prevent this from happening.

Fluorine-free water repellent textile finishes to achieve water-repellent effects. Many plants have a natural water repellency. BIONIC-FINISH® ECO absorbs this effect so that we can use it for our products.

Insulation:

Uhip does not use down in our garments, but we have used wool or synthetic fibres instead. The benefits of synthetic insulations are that they keep the heat even in wet condition and it dries quickly. The basic principle for all insulations is the same: small spaces in the fibres encapsulate body heat and keep you warm. The more air between the body and the cold, the more effective insulation.
